About the Editorial Team
The Georgian Medical Journal is led by an Editor-in-Chief and a structured editorial team operating under the principles of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). All submissions undergo double-anonymous peer review, with editorial decisions made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the relevant Section Editor and, where appropriate, the Statistical Editor. The Editorial Board provides scholarly oversight and peer review, while the International Advisory Board contributes external strategic guidance on scientific quality, indexing, and global public health relevance. Editorial Advisors support the journal in specialized practice and implementation domains. The Georgian Medical Journal (GMJ) has been accepted for inclusion in the Scientific Journal Impact Factor (SJIF) Journals Master List and is currently undergoing evaluation for the SJIF 2026 Impact Factor.
The Georgian Medical Journal has published its Preprint Policy, effective 28 May 2026. GMJ formally accepts manuscripts previously posted on recognised preprint servers including medRxiv, bioRxiv, Preprints.org, OSF Preprints, SSRN, and Research Square. Preprint posting does not constitute prior publication, consistent with ICMJE and COPE recommendations. Authors must disclose any preprint DOI at submission.
