The GMJ Author Toolkit (AG-T04) provides a comprehensive, self-contained guide for the preparation and submission of Case Reports in accordance with the CARE (CAse REport) guideline and international publication standards. The document outlines the full process from case selection and ethical considerations to manuscript preparation and submission.
The guide is structured into three integrated components: (1) theoretical foundations explaining what constitutes a publishable case and how Case Reports differ from Case Series and other manuscript types; (2) a detailed pre-submission checklist covering mandatory CARE elements, anonymization requirements, and patient consent; and (3) a complete worked example demonstrating all ten CARE sections, including clinical reasoning, therapeutic intervention, and patient perspective.
Particular emphasis is placed on ethical requirements, including written informed consent for publication and full anonymization of patient data. By combining practical guidance with internationally recognized reporting standards, this resource aims to improve manuscript quality, ensure ethical compliance, and support authors in producing high-quality, publication-ready Case Reports for the Georgian Medical Journal.
