Submit your manuscript to the Georgian Medical Journal
The Georgian Medical Journal (GMJ) welcomes submissions from researchers, clinicians, public health professionals, policymakers, and institutional partners working across medicine and public health.

Fees and institutional support. GMJ charges no manuscript submission fee. Publication is free of charge through 31 December 2027 through financial support provided by the Public Health Institute of Georgia (PHIG) from its internal institutional resources. Fee status has no influence on peer review or editorial decisions.

1) Before you submit

Please review the following pages before beginning the submission process:

  • About the Journal — scope, governance, publication frequency, and editorial information.
  • Author Guidelines — article types, manuscript preparation, reporting standards, ORCID, CRediT, ethics, data availability, AI disclosure, and Vancouver references.
  • Peer Review Policy — double-anonymised review; scholarly research submissions are normally reviewed by at least two independent reviewers after initial editorial screening.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy — responsible AI use, disclosure, confidentiality, and human accountability.
  • Preprint Policy — preprints are permitted; disclose the server and DOI or persistent URL.
  • Open Access Policy and Price Policy.
Before starting. ORCID iDs are required for all authors. Research manuscripts should include applicable ethics/consent information, funding and competing-interest disclosures, a Data Availability Statement, CRediT contributions, trial registration where applicable, and substantive AI-use disclosure where applicable.

2) How to submit

  1. Register or log in. First-time authors create an account; returning authors log in.
  2. Start a new submission. Choose the appropriate section/article type and follow the OJS submission workflow.
  3. Upload manuscript and supplements. Include applicable reporting checklists, figures, supplementary material, and supporting ethics documentation when requested.
  4. Enter metadata and contributors. Provide complete author affiliations and ORCID iDs for all authors; confirm funding, competing interests, ethics/consent, data availability, trial registration, preprint information, and AI-use disclosure where applicable.
  5. Submit. After completion, OJS provides confirmation and a submission identifier.

3) What happens after submission?

The editorial office performs an initial assessment for scope, completeness, ethical requirements, originality, and basic methodological suitability. Scholarly manuscripts that pass screening and require external review proceed to GMJ's double-anonymised peer-review process, normally with at least two independent reviewers. The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or an authorised independent handling editor in cases requiring recusal.
